Problems!

There are no problems here. This is a gift Janine is making for the bride and groom. It is going to be absolutely lovely and I do hope she will be able to bring it to show us before the wedding.

Now you can tell from these faces that there's a slight problem. When you see our trees individually they look good, but when you put them all together they don't look right somehow. We have been very lucky in the projects we have done so far that they have looked great when put together, but we can't get it right every time can we?

These two look very good next to each other. These are Spring trees.

These Winter trees don't seem right at all and I think I may have to make another tree using another technique. I quite like my tree actually, but it looks far too heavy beside all the other work having been made with the embellisher.

Let's hope when we next meet we can at least join a few trees that look good together to enter into the exhibition. There must be way of doing it!

The wedding book looks beautiful, I'd love to see more of it.
Perhaps with the trees you could do a common unifying border for each to separate them and then piece together.

Do the trees have to be side-by-side? Can you add something in between to break them up? Perhaps then, they may look better together.

Thanks for the suggestions Jo and Dolores. Any more suggestions? They will all be considered.

I dont dislike your tre next to the other one. Maybe you could add some white highlights to yours to unify it a bit(frost) The difference may not show up so much in the photo. I really like your tree.

The trees are all so beautiful. I am sure that you will find some way of putting them together, just play around with them.

I was always taught that you could tie anything together by using a common theme. The common border is a good idea. Could you try adding something exra to each one that is the same, eg beads, or a leaf in each one that is the same colour? Maybe different amounts on each one, like one leaf in gold on one & maybe three on another. Just something to tie them all together.

A thought? -Perhaps pick a common colour from each tree piece and make a sashing in that colour to separate them and then add a border in the same colour. Then perhaps, if you felt like it, you could stitch into the sashing and perhaps the border too from some of the trees which would unify the piece.

I guess the panels with the stronger colours stand out while the paler ones are recessive. You could put them together with a border between. Have the dominant panels at one end and the recessive at the other. Have the border doing the opposite? Does that make sense?
